About 11 people turned up to the Turner Trophy .22 match. The weather wasn't too hot or windy, making for good conditions.
This was the first official match that has been shot since the shooting shed has had a roof which gave us plenty of shade and kept things a bit cooler than they would have been if we'd been out in the sun.
The shooting line was a bit behind the corner of the shed, and so we put up a warning rope and posted a sentry outside the shed to stop anyone coming around the corner while the range was live. A couple of chairs from the club rooms completed the home comforts.
The match was shot on a variety of target sizes and distances from roughly match box sized at 10 metres out to about 20cm square at 50 metres. We had a few problems with people hitting target bases and spining the whole setup 90 degrees (leaving not much to aim at), so we made some rules on the fly (just put the rest of the shots into whichever targets hadn't been spun around)
I don't actually know who won (I'm sure it wasn't me), but everyone seemed to have a good day!
